High Volume Low Pressure(HVLP from Wagner)
Improving On Old TechnologyHVLP spray was invented in the 1970's.Gun design is similar to conventional air spray. Fluid is atomized by a directing a high volume of low pressure air into a fluid stream. The design improves transfer efficiency over the conventional air spray method. Changes On The InsideHVLP has a higher transfer efficiency than conventional air spray, up to 65 to 75 %. This results in lower material use (reduces costs), less spray booth maintenance and cleanup, and less hazardous waste. Modern coatings require pressure or gravity feed for proper flow and atomization. HVLPspray guns provide average productivity, good atomizing, and a fine finish.
Lowpressure air is used to break up paint into very fine droplets. The process creates less overspray and waste. HVLP spray complieswith new EPA regulations.
